Badmotivator Barrels #5 Drilled Rubber Stopper
When aging beer, wine, cider, or other fermented beverages in your Badmotivator barrel, there may still be some fermentation activity after transferring the liquid into the barrel. As fermentation continues, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is produced, which can create pressure if the barrel is sealed with the standard wooden bung.
Our #5 Drilled Rubber Stopper provides a simple, temporary solution. It replaces the wooden bung and features a 3/8" center hole designed to accommodate a standard fermentation airlock. This allows CO₂ to escape while helping keep outside air and contaminants from entering your barrel.
How to Use
Remove the wooden bung and insert the rubber stopper into the bung hole. Install a standard fermentation airlock (sold separately) into the 3/8" hole, making sure the airlock is properly filled according to its instructions.
Once fermentation has finished and CO₂ production is no longer a concern, remove the rubber stopper and reinstall the original wooden bung for long-term aging.
