Cherry/Oak Hybrid Barrel for Spirit Aging
This barrel blends the robust qualities of Quartersawn American White Oak with a single Cherry wood stave, adding a subtle fruitiness to your spirits. We’re exploring new aging dynamics with this hybrid, and your feedback will be essential in evaluating its performance, particularly regarding seasonal variations and loss rates.
If the barrel doesn’t perform as expected, we’ll replace it with a standard oak barrel.

My whisky has been in here for about 1.5 years now. I've been drinking and testing as I go. And as the fluid level has been dropping the barrel character is being amplified. At 1.5 years this cherry is making the nose on my all grain rye whisky smell like gumballs and cherry candy in addition to the oak. Not in a bad way. It's incredible. My only complaint is that I didn't drink so much of it as it sat.
Superb craftsmanship. Shipped quick and well packaged. Promptly filled with rye whiskey and no leaks.
This is an awesome idea I haven't added any distillate yet but i can't see why it wouldn't perform as well as a standard oak barrel. I look forward to using it.

I tried a peach brandy aged in one of these hybrids in the summer. It was fantastic. I decided to grab one for an apple rye brandy I had on hand. After 2 months the taste profile was fantastic. It is far from done, but I’m excited to pull it in 2027.
Unlike a lot of smaller barrels there is no tannin overload. It just a remarkably aged spirit. I’ve purchased several so far, and plan on being a regular, returning customer.
